The Department of Ophthalmology carries out education, research, and medical services faithfully for the maintenance of healthy vision in all people. Retinopathy, vitreous disorders, glaucoma, cataract, corneal opacity, tumor, and eyelid disorders, and also childhood vision management, strabismus, and amblyopia are examined and treated using advanced medical equipments.
The department prepared the foundation for complete corneosclera transplantation by opening the eye bank in 1992, and also provides treatment for glaucoma and retinosis through the development of new technique using special laser.
Specialized medical services for diabetic retinopathy, strabismus and amblyopia, glaucoma, and cataract clinic are provided. The department is trying its best for providing advanced medical services by holding a nationwide ophthalmology workshop each year.
