Chonnam National University Hospital (General Director Lee, Sam-Yong) has been designated as the Ministry of Health and Welfare·Korean Hospital Association for prevention of the recent COVID-19 spread.
The Public Relief Hospital is where patients suffering from respiratory diseases are isolated from other patients from the visit to outpatient treatment or hospitalization in all areas in order to prevent the possibility of infection within the hospital following regional infection of COVID-19.
Following such, Chonnam National University Hospital has set up the Public Relief Hospital by renovating the hospital's funeral center and will start its treatment for patients suffering from respiratory diseases on full scale from the 9th.
This Public Relief Hospital is comprised of 3 treatment rooms, 1 tuberculosis consultation room, 1 respiratory symptom consultation room, 1 administrative and payment room and by installing negative pressure machines in every room, virus exposure outside the treatment room is fundamentally prevented.
The medical team will attend to patients by wearing protective gears such as mask above KF94, goggles or face shields, disposable pinafores and latex gloves.
General Director Lee, Sam-Yong revealed that "Following the designation of Public Relief Hospital, it is expected to help us focus more on the prevention of COVID-19 spread and to resolve the anxiety of local citizens" and that "Along with the Public Relief Hospital, Chonnam National University Hospital will do our best to put an end to COVID-19 with screening centers, national designated Negative Pressure Isolation Room".
