Chonnam National University Hospital (President Ahn Young-keun) received the highest possible score on the "1st Outpatient Depression Adequacy Assessment"
Since last year, the National Insurance Review and Assessment Service have been conducting a sufficiency review to improve the quality of outpatient depression treatment services and strengthen assessment in the mental health field.
This assessment was conducted by examining the rate of return within three weeks of the initial visit and the rate of the initial assessment of depressive symptoms at medical institutions across the country that treated patients aged 18 or older without a history of antidepressant or psychotherapy prescription for depression from January to June of last year.
As a consequence of the review, Chonnam National University Hospital was awarded an average score of 84 points, which was twice as high as the average score awarded to other medical institutions (43.2 points).
The assessment items consist of four indicators: ▲ the rate of return within three weeks of the initial visit, ▲ the rate of two or more visits within eight weeks of the original visit, ▲ the rate of the initial assessment of depressed symptoms, and ▲ the rate of reevaluation of depressive symptoms. In particular, Chonnam National University Hospital obtained marks that were substantially higher than the average score on all four items.
