The Department of Vascular and Transplantation Surgery performs vascular surgery and transplantation surgery and deals with hernias and diseases related to solid cancer in children.
Kidney and liver transplantation procedures involving living donors and brain-dead donors are carried out, and recently, ABO incompatible organ transplants are also actively performed. As for vascular surgery, the department performs peritoneal dialysis catheter insertion for dialysis for patients with chronic renal failure, arteriovenous fistula surgery, and treatments for deep vein thrombosis, venous diseases such as varicose veins, arterial diseases such as peripheral artery disease, aneurysms and Berger’s disease, and lymphedema. In the case of varicose veins of the lower extremities, traditional surgical methods as well as the latest laser and minimally invasive radiofrequency techniques are applied. Hernia repair is performed for not only children but also adults. In the case of hernia in adults, the laparoscopic method is typically used.
