About Dept. of Nephrology: Chonnam National University Hospital Department of Nephrology is dedicated to diagnosing and treating kidney diseases and disorders caused by systemic diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, or systemic lupus erythematosus and diseases of the kidney itself such as hematuria, proteinuria, urinary tract infections, nephritis, nephrotic syndrome, and kidney stones. The department also diagnoses and treats patients with acute renal failure, and chronic renal failure. With an artificial kidney room, hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis are carried out for patients suffering from chronic kidney failure, and the department also carries out kidney transplants and post-transplantation care.
