About Dept. of Rheumatology: The Department of Rheumatology is dedicated to treating rheumatic diseases, referring to a group of diseases that cause joint pain or arthritis, by identifying the underlying case.; Chonnam National University Hospital Department of Rheumatology is staffed with doctors with extensive experience at home and abroad who are in charge of treating a wide variety of rheumatic diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, degenerative arthritis, gout, ankylosing spondylitis, systemic lupus erythematosus, Sjogren's syndrome, scleroderma, multiple myositis, and dermatomyositis. The department cooperate closely with Hanyang University Hospital for Rheumatic Diseases and Seoul St. Mary’s Hospital of the Catholic Medical Center.; Not only that, the department conducts research across diverse fields, from basic research on the causes of rheumatic diseases to clinical research and new drug development.
