Korean National Health Insurance Card Holders will be treated same as Korean.

Patients under the Korean National Health Insurance are required to visit primary or secondary level hospital and take and bring a medical referral paper to make the appointment at a tertiary level hospital like Chonnam National University Hospital. (According to the National Health Insurance Act.)

Only the patients for the care below can see a doctor without referral paper.
  • Childbirth, Emergency care, Hemophiliac disease, Dental care
  • Rehabilitation treatment such as occupational therapy or exercise therapy, etc. for the disabled.
Note for the Appointment
For the patients’ convenience, please make contact with the call center at least 2 days before your appointment to change or cancel it.
Making an appointment on the day may not be possible and the appointment regulation may vary by the departments.
It is recommended to visit on your appointment day with your guardian.

Registration & Payment
Take a number from queuing machine in front of patient affairs desk.
Go to patient affairs desk upon your order to register and pay the consultation fee.
ID verification is required for patient registration.
Register Radiological Images
If you have any medical images (CD) related to symptoms or treatment, please visit the hospital 30 minutes prior to the appointment and register it at the Radiology desk (2nd floor of 1st building).
Visit Outpatient Department
After the registration and payment, please present the receipt as well as the referral paper and medical records of the primary or secondary level hospital to staff of the outpatient department.
The reading result of medical image may allow the consultation to be more smooth.
Consultation
  • The patients without a prior appointment may have to wait or may have to make an appointment for another day.
  • Please request medical records or medical certificate from the doctor or the staff of the department, if needed.
Payment

Please follow the instruction of the staff after the consultation.

In case you need to take examinations or treatments
Make the payment for the examinations and/or treatments at patient affairs desk.
You can pay with the cash (KRW) or credit card.
In case you need to get a prescription for medication
Please go to the patient affairs desk to get your prescription.
(2 copies : 1 for the patient, 1 for the pharmacy)
Most medications prescribed at the outpatient department are usually not included in the payment bill.
In case you don’t need to take any examinations or treatments & get a prescription
Please follow the instruction of the staff.

Examination(or Treatment)
Undergo the examinations(or treatments).
The examinations(or treatments) may be performed on the same day or scheduled for another day.
In case any extra charge added after the examinations or treatments, please make payment at the patient affairs desk.
Prescription & Return Home

For the prescription, you can take it (2 copies : 1 for the patient, 1 for the pharmacy) at the patient affairs desk and buy the medication at a pharmacy outside of the hospital with the prescription.
