職業環境医学科


Occupational and Environmental Medicine has continued to become more widely recognized as a specialty with unique capabilities for preventing and treating illnesses and injuries related to work and environment. 

The mission of Occupational and Environmental Medicine is to: identify agents in the environment and workplace that affect human health, elucidate their mechanisms, develop strategies for confronting their effects, assess and communicate their risks, and share the knowledge obtained. To pursue the mission, multidisciplinary practices covering clinical medicine, toxicology, industrial hygiene, epidemiology, law, and other public health sciences are needed. 

The components of researches and services include chemical toxicity, heavy metal exposure, solvent toxicity, occupational asthma, occupational lung disease, occupational skin disease, occupational neurologic disorder, cumulative trauma disorder, noise-induced hearing loss, VDT syndrome, disease of health care worker, agriculture-related disorder and so on. In addition, students have opportunities to get a lecture and conduct their practice in the Department of Occupational and Environmental Medicine Clinic.
