The Ministry of Health and Welfare has designated Chonnam National University Bitgoeul Hospital and Chonnam National University Gwangju 2nd Geriatric Hospital as dedicated regional hospital for infectious disease to prepare for the worst case scenario when the limit of negative pressure room capacity in medical institutes is exceeded following the rapid incase of the recent COVID-19 patients.  
Following such, Chonnam National University Bitgoeul Hospital held a contingency meeting with the Hospital's General Director and key position holders and executives on the 23rd and established a 'Contingency plan following the designation as dedicated hospital for infectious disease'. 
According to this contingency plan, 50% of the hospitalized patients have to be transferred by 24th and by 28th, all hospitalized patients have to be transferred and it will be equipped with wards and facilities to accommodate COVID-19 patients only. 
Once this task is complete, Chonnam National University Bitgoeul Hospital would be able to accommodate up to 35 COVID-19 patients. 
Wards for confirmed patients will be allocated to 1 room each and temporary partition separating the nurse station and ward will be installed.
